Philanthropy

A Cornerstone of Kappa Kappa Gamma

Members of our Dallas Alumnae Association are Committed to our Community and our Fraternity

Our all-volunteer Association hosts Kappa Tablescapes each fall benefiting local non-profit organizations and our national foundation. This is our signature event and has benefited more than 100 agencies since 1995.

Our national fraternity selected Reading Is Fundamental as its national philanthropy with Reading Is Key as its signature event and our association partners annually with a local non-profit agency to hold an event to promote literacy to underserved children and their families.

We support one another through the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with scholarships and Rose McGill Grants, a program providing financial support to Kappas in unexpected times in need.

THE DALLAS ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA FOUNDATION, INC.

The Foundation is responsible for receiving and distributing funds raised through Kappa Tablescapes and is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation's Board of Trustees are member of the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Kappa Tablescapes, our annual event sponsored by the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma, brings local designers, florists, and retailers together to create magnificent and unique table decorations for the benefit of annually selected agencies.

Association Members nominate an agency for consideration as a Beneficiary. The Philanthropy Committee is responsible for researching and recommending a selection of beneficiaries to be recipients of proceeds from Kappa Tablescapes and are presented for approval by the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma Board. Funds raised for Kappa Tablescapes are administered by the Foundation.

To be eligible for nomination, an agency must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency serving constituents, citizens, and/or organizations in Dallas County. Each agency is required to meet with a Philanthropy Committee Researcher and provide required documentation and financial information, including the agency's 501(c)(3) letter and financial statements from the current and previous two years. The process, from nomination to being selected as a beneficiary to receiving proceeds from the Kappa Tablescapes event, takes approximately a year and a half.
